PSW: The Colosseum - Submission Match [Queen Cobra vs Empress Ngozi (PSW Jewels Championship)]

The horizon is lined with red light and the stars are out.

A.B.: It's time for our first main event.

Ring Announcer: The following singles contest is a submission match and it is for the PSW Jewels Championship!

Shamoon: I can only imagine that being forced to tap out has to be the most humiliating thing for wrestler to do and in front of a live audience no less.

A.B.: Given that this is a match between submission specialists.

Dominga: Queen Cobra isn't tapping out to anything.

The arena darkens and a fog builds. A slender figure crawls out of it. Queen Cobra's white hair dangles from her head. She rises to her feet and reveals her face revealing her serpentine eyes and bright red lips.

Ring Announcer: On the way to the ring, from Blackpool, England, Queen Cobra!

Shamoon: This woman really creeps me out.

Dominga: You would say that.

The Queen slides into the ring and crawls to a corner. She rises as she did before, this time the arena brightens once she's at full height. She turns to face the ramp, her thin red lips widening into a smile.

Golden sparks reign down on the stage and ramp as the Empress makes her way out. The crowd cheers, with some of them bowing in reverence. She gives the people on either side a royal wave.

A.B.: A sight to behold.

Ring Announcer: And the opponent, from Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Empress Ngozi

Ngozi stands on the apron, the referee sits on the middle rope to allow for ease of access. This is both a show of respect and part of Ngozi's royal persona.

Shamoon: Can you believe she's still going at her age?

A.B.: You watch your disrespectful mouth!

Shamoon: Uh... sorry, I-I was just saying it's incredible that she's -

A.B.: She's one of the best to ever lace up a pair of boots. The hell do you think she'd be going?!

Shamoon: N-no! No, I-

Dominga: Aazrie, just stop before Alf chokeslams through the table.

Ngozi finishes her entrance by extending her arms, bringing down the same golden sparks from around the ring, before standing in her corner and removing her crown, glasses and robe. The items are taken away with care. Queen Cobra sits on all fours, her mouth opens to reveal long white fangs. Ngozi looks unimpressed.

The referee holds up the championship to show the crowd, then hands it to a crewman at ringside, before signalling for the bell to ring. The combatants circle each other; Ngozi using a wrestling stance, Cobra still on all fours.

Dominga: Wait, don't both of these women have hyper-defensive styles?

A.B.: That is true. The end result of this bout depends entirely on who makes the first move.

Though both women keep up an arrogant front, they are internally unsure of how to approach each other. The younger of the two, with far less experience and therefore patience, swiftly charges at the Empress, who easily sidesteps her. Cobra stops on all fours, turns on the spot and dashes again. This time Ngozi jumps up and does a double stomp on her back.

Ngozi grabs Cobra's legs, bending them and the lower back for a Boston crab, but Cobra slides backwards, bending her back more. To the shock of her opponent. Cobra does this until she is lying on her back, then stands on her head, twists and does a bodyscissor takedown. Ngozi recovers quickly and watches as Cobra rises in a spider walk position, giggling while staring holes into the Empress.

Dominga: That's what I'm talking about!

A.B.: Incredible.

Ngozi gets back to her feet, while Cobra spider walks away. Cobra falls, twisting and landing on all fours. They go back to analyzing each other.

Dominga: What do you do when you can't make your opponent tap out?

A.B.: Says who? She'll find a way to do it.

Once again Queen Cobra dashes forward with an open hand strike, which is blocked. Smiling, she pulls the Empress into a knee strike to the gut forcing the older warrior to double over in pain. Cobra attempts a spin kick, but Ngozi blocks it, trips her and attempts an ankle lock, but Cobra rolls forward and throws her off. Before Ngozi can move, her right arm is placed in an armbar. Ngozi is too slow to react and her arm is violently wrenched.

She forces her way to the ropes and places her foot on the bottom rope. The referee calls for the hold to be broken, but Cobra does not let go. The referee begins counting with Cobra letting go of the armbar just before the count of five. Ngozi clutches her arm and massages it.

Cobra backs away on all fours, laughing.

A.B.: It would seem that Ngozi has underestimated her opposition here tonight.

The wrestlers circle each other once again. Ngozi finally looks serious. Cobra runs forward again, sending a volley of strikes with her hands. Ngozi blocks and parries them. Cobra tries a roundhouse kick, but Ngozi counters into a schoolboy rollup, she transitions into a leglock. Now it's the Queen's turn to feel a violent wrench and bend on a limb. She tries using her other to kick her opponent away, but Ngozi wrenches harder. So hard in fact that Cobra almost taps out, but Ngozi lets go at the last moment.

Dominga: Why'd she do that?

A.B.: Now Queen Cobra knows that the Empress is serious.

Ngozi places her hand under her chin and laughs. Cobra rubs her knee, glaring at the Empress. They both take their respective stances once again.

They begin a sequence of strikes, grapples and counters. Queen Cobra's attacks are fast and varied, with Ngozi barely manages to avoid them. Queen Cobra's flexibility makes grapples difficult. However, despite her age, Ngozi has more stamina and maintains it by fighting defensively.

Cobra lands a kick to the gut, then hits a flying headscissors, which transitions into an armbar upon Ngozi hitting the ground. Cobra curls her legs in and places her feet on the sides of Ngozi's head and torso, then, using Ngozi's body and head as leverage, pulls on her arm.

Dominga: She could pull her arm from its socket.

A.B.: With those long legs I don't doubt it.

Cobra sandwiches Ngozi's arm between her knees stands and then drops down, the full weight of her body coming down on Ngozi's arm, making the Empress groan in pain. Cobra repeats this five more times, before transitioning back into the armbar. Ngozi once again attempts to get to the ropes, but Cobra lifts her back off the mat and slides her head backwards, bending her back and Ngozi's arm at the same time. Ngozi screams.

Dominga: I've never seen anything like this before.

A.B.: I never thought I'd say this, but I think Ngozi may have to tap out here.

With nowhere to go, Ngozi struggles against her own left hand, mustering every ounce of willpower not to tap out.

Dominga: She's going to tap. She has to or her arm will be broken.

Instead of trying to slide her body away from Cobra, Ngozi slides towards her, it's dangerous, but she sees no other option. Cobra's back is bent even further, to the point where she is nearly bent in half, the strain of which begins to register.

A.B.: My goodness.

Ngozi lies on her side the lifts herself off slightly, pushing Cobra onto her face and forces her to let go of the hold. Cobra's neck is pinned down by Ngozi's body and clutched by her free arm. With a great deal of pain, she brings her other arm over and clasping her hands, squeezing tightly around her opponent's neck. Ngozi pulls back. Cobra's flexibility is not a factor in this situation. Cobra's attempts at grabbing her opponent's face fail miserably.

Ngozi tightens the chokehold, ignoring the pain in her right arm. Cobra tries to crawl to the ropes, but Ngozi tightens it even further.

A.B.: Queen Cobra's fading. Does she have a way out?

Cobra tries to open her mouth, but Ngozi's elbow is so far under her chin that she can only bare her teeth. With no escape and no ability to breathe, she passes out. The ref lifts her arm and lets go, the arm lifelessly drops. A second time, it still drops. A third and final time, Ngozi squeezing even tighter and the arm drops.

The ref quickly signals for the bell and forces Ngozi off of Cobra. The Empress is more than happy to oblige, sitting up and clutching her right arm with gritted teeth.

Ring Announcer: Here is your winner and the new PSW Jewels Champion, EMPRESS NGOZI!

A.B.: Somehow, someway she still managed to pull out a win. All hail the Empress!

Dominga: Do you think she'd forgive me for doubting her?

A.B.: She can gracious when she wishes.

Shamoon: Am I allowed to speak now?

A.B. and Dominga: No!

Ngozi struggles to her feet, panting and clutching her arm, just as Queen Cobra awakens with a start, gasping for air. She looks up at Ngozi with disdain, just as the latter is handed the championship. The Empress looks down at her fallen opponent with a smirk and raises the belt over her head to an ovation from the crowd. Her right arm hangs limply at her side.

Queen Cobra narrows her eyes and bares her fangs, before backsliding out of the ring on all fours.

A.B.: I don't think this is the last these two have seen of each other and I can not wait to see them in the same ring again.

Dominga: Same here.

The gold sparks pour down once again.
