PSW Fight Pit Episode 3 - The Spark

The big screens show a dark room with the only light coming from a TV, obscured by the silhouette of Danys Vités, who sits cross-legged in front of it.

The TV shows a man with a white mask and light blue ring gear entering an arena full of screaming fans.

In Vités' place now sits a young Haitian boy.

Announcer (o.s.): Damas y caballeros, ¡Junten sus aplausos para el Héroe conocido como Zero!

Vités (v.o.): Li te ewo mwen. (He was my hero.) Enspirasyon mwen. (My inspiration.)

The adult Vités returns, throwing kicks in the dark.

Vités (v.o.):  Rezon ki fè mwen se moun mwen ye a. (The reason that I am, who I am.)

The cuts back to an older boy, tearful and angry. The footage on the TV isn't shown, but the voice of a much younger Alf Balducci from his time in Cardinal Points Global Wrestling can be heard.

A.B. (o.s.): The Lucha Libre community is mourning on this.

Vités (v.o.): Apre sa, yo te retire mask li a, epi li pa janm te menm jan an ankò. (Then they took his mask off, and he was never the same.)

The video cuts to Ascension 3 weeks ago, the opening match to crown the first-ever Thunderweight Champion.

Vités (v.o.): Lè yo te di m mwen t ap lite avè l, mwen te santi m onore. (When I was told I was wrestling him, I felt honoured). Men, lè m gade l, lè m gade nan je l... (But when I looked at him, looked into his eyes...)

The camera zooms in on the painted face of the man who would go on to become He Who Wields Thunder.

Vités (v.o.): Mwen pa t 'wè yon ewo. Se sèlman move lespri a. (I did not see a hero. Only the demon.) El Demonio de las Heladas.

The video cuts back to the tearful boy, whose tears have become sparks. Then to this past Monday on the Madhouse, Vités running in to save Alf Balducci from the Demon.

Vités (v.o.): Kounye a, mwen pral ewo a. (Now, I'll be the hero.)

The boy stands, his eyes literally burning.

The video cuts back to the Madhouse, Vités pointing at the retreating Heladas.

Vités (v.o.): M'ap enspirasyon an. (I will be the inspiration.)

The TV is on fire. The boy is now a man, though we do not see his face, even as he looks directly at the camera and points at it with two finger. The video cuts back to Vités pointing at Heladas, turning the Demon's ice and frost into steam.

Vités: M AP VIN CHANPYON THUNDERWEIGHT LA! (I WILL BE THE THUNDERWEIGHT CHAMPION!)

The camera lingers on Heladas on the stage.

Vités (v.o.): Epi petèt... (And maybe...)

The image of Heladas transitions to older image of Zero in his white mask.

Vités (v.o.): Petèt, m ap sove ewo mwen an. (Maybe, I will save my hero. )

The video ends.

ARENA

SDS: It is an incredible testament to what our sport can do for people. To have an athlete the likes of Danys Vités-

DS: Get the hell out of here with this sentimental bullshit!

SDS: What is your problem?

DS: My problem is this kid out here focusing on the wrong thing. Here's something he didn't talk about in his little video. He LOST!

SDS: He took Heladas to his absolute limit in that match.

DS: Loss is loss, companheiro! He lost at Ascension, he needs to make sure he don't lose at the Valentine's Brawl! Nothing else matters.

SDS: He's well within his rights to speak on what this match and what facing this man, this legend, like him or not, means to him.

DS: Oh, wah wah wah! "My hero's a big meanie, now." Welcome to professional wrestling, kid. All your heroes are babacas! Assholes! Focus on winning the damn match. Bring Thunder to the Fight Pit.

SDS: Look at this way. If Zero doesn't inspire Vités, then there's no Vités to challenge Heladas.

Santos just flicks his hand.

SDS: While we're on the topic, I've been informed that our third and final Thunderwight showcase will act as the penultimate match of the night. For now, it's time for some more Tag Team action!
