Kruscher runs the 6-Man Gauntlet Match, defeating Kala Kahuna, Gary Wildman, the Honey Badger, Seth, and finally Vito Montani to become the first-ever Holder of Dominion. He kicks Montani out of the ring and demands his title. Head Referee "Big Joe" Wilson is about to present him with it.
Briar Lane: Ladies and gentlemen, I have just been informed that there is a surprise 7th entrant in this match!
SDS: 7th entrant?
DS: They can't do this!
SDS: Who is it?
Kruscher is livid as Wilson pulls the title away. A loud roar is heard over the speakers, and the crowd explodes with recognition.
SDS: It's Paul Grizzly!
DS: WHAT?!
SDS: Paul Grizzly! This is incredible!
DS: WHAT?!
SDS: Paul Grizzly! This is incredible!
DS: I thought CPGW had him locked down!
SDS: Apparently not, and he's making a beeline for the ring.
DS: Kruscher's exhausted! He can't fight a giant!
SDS: Bear Hug! Grizzly, with the Bear Hug, has put so many people away, and Kruscher is one more. He's out! Paul Grizzly is the first-ever World Dominion Champion!
Grizzly plants his foot on a fallen Kruscher, raises the belt and roars.
Campbell: ... The Fight Pit selects the "Moscow Machine" Kruscher!
Kruscher marches down to the ring.
SDS: Where's he going?
After Shabani makes her 4th pick, Zadie Chen.
Campbell: Me then? The Fight Pit's next pick goes to Vito Montani and Cody K. Olwagen, the STREETWISE KREW! But that's not all. Montani will face Kruscher in that very ring... in a NO. 1 CONTENDER'S MATCH... (the pop gets louder) RIGHT NOW!
Shabani: What?!
DS: Darryl, did you know about this?
SDS: I had no idea! Campbell clearly kept it close to the chest.
Montani makes his entrance with Olwagen in tow, hyping him up.
Kruscher and Montani circle each other. The latter has his hands up, head bobbing from side to side; The former looking utterly unimpressed.
SDS: And here we go, impromptu No. 1 contender's match-up underway. Fight Pit GM Jeffrey Campbell is already flexing his managerial muscles.
DS: Maybe he should have flexed his brain muscles, Darryl. Kruscher already beat this palhaço on Saturday! He should already be the No. 1 contender! And the champion, but that's a different story. This is ridiculous!
It's a mostly one-sided affair, with Kruscher eating a straight right cross from Montani, clotheslining him, headbutting him, suplexing him, kicking him in the ribs while he's down, and chopping his chest in the corner, forcing the ref to intervene.
DS: What's that duende Olwagen doing?
SDS: I think... I think he just handed Montani something.
When Kruscher attempts to go after Montani again, the latter catches him with another stiff right cross.
SDS: Kruscher is down! Montani with a loaded fist!
DS: OPEN YOUR EYES, REF!
Olwagen gets on the apron, and the ref yells at him to get off, allowing Montani to toss the object and pin Kruscher. Olwagen gets off the apron just in time for the ref to turn around and count the 3.
Briar Lane: Here is your winner, Vito Montani!
The crowd reaction is decent and mostly positive.
Montani gets up, rubbing his throbbing chest, as the ref raises his hand. Olwagen gets in, hyping him up and makes belt motions around his partner's waist.
SDS: Well, whether you like it or not, there is your number 1 contender.
29 December 2030 - Ascension
David Bekker: The following is a Street Fight, and it is for the PSW World Dominion Championship!
Grizzly makes his entrance first, the last surviving inaugural champion from the Super Fight after the Wallaces, Kraken Khan and Queen Cobra all failed to hold on to their respective titles on this night.
Then Montani and Olwagen.
Cody: Hihy yo, Vito!
Vito: Yeah?
Cody (points at the ring): Whaht thihh hiell is that?
Vito (bends over and squints): I don' know. It sorta looks like a hairbawl on two legs.
Cody: They want you to fight a hairball?
Vito: Apparently?
Grizzly walks over to the ropes and orders a crewman to hand him a microphone. He then turns to the duo.
Grizzly: So which one of you girls am I going to be flattening?
Vito: Oh ho, da hairbawl tawks.
Grizzly: Haha. You two are funny, but I've got a title to defend, so if one of you would be so kind as to get down here, so I can win and go home. That would be most appreciated.
Vito: Yuh got it 'rawng, old tima. Dat title's comin' home wit' me, but foist. Cody, tha case?
Cody pulls out a brown rectangular case and opens it. Inside are a pair of golden knuckle dusters.
Dominga: Oh, come on!
Shamoon: It's no DQ, isn't it? And Grizzly's got obvious advantages.
Dominga: He's already got his peanut gallery with him; what other advantages does he need?
A.B.: Every single advantage he can get.
Vito places a knuckle duster on each hand, then does a few fast jabs in the air.
Cody: Nightie night, Oupa.
The mics are dropped, and the duo heads down to the ring.
The match starts off with Grizzly swatting Montani like a fly when he goes for a Superman punch with the knuckle dusters. Then Montani runs scared, but Olwagen intervenes, distracting him with a dropkick and a chair shot.
The two gangsters proceed to mug the giant, breaking a baseball bat on his head, hitting him in the leg with a crowbar when he tries to powerbomb Montani through a table, allowing Montani to grab Grizzly's leg and lifts the giant onto his shoulders then grips Grizzly's head with his left arm and throws both himself back-first on to the table, with Grizzly taking the brunt of it.
A.B.: 'FFANGUL THROUGH THE TABLE! 'FFANGUL THROUGH THE TABLE! VITO MONTANI, WITH AN INHUMAN BURST OF STRENGTH, PUTTING THE BIG MAN THROUGH THE TABLE!!!
But Grizzly survives, always.
Eventually Montani takes the fight back into the ring and tries to use one of the knuckle dusters again. Grizzly grabes his wrist and then his face before putting him down with a Claw Hold Slam. He gives Olwagen one too, on top of Montani, then does a Corner Slingshot Splash on both before.
A.B.: Grizzly's not done yet. He's got Vito in the Bearhug again, squeezing the life out of him.
Vito screams as his body is slowly crushed by the massive, hairy arms. Grizzly smiles sadistically the whole time. It is another full minute before he passes out from pain and lack of oxygen. The referee calls for the bell.
Ring Announcer: Here is your winner and still the Holder of Dominion, PAUL GRIZZLY!
Grizzly throws Montani down and snatches his title from the referee.
A.B.: The streak is over. Paul Grizzly is the only defending champion to retain his gold. And how fitting that it should be the biggest prize there is.
Grizzly is about to leave, but notices the still writhing form of Cody K. Olwagen in the corner. He drops his title, stalks over to the small man and picks him for a Bearhug of his own.
A.B.: Oh no. No!
Shamoon: The match is over. You're still the champ. Let him go!
Dominga: It's all about sending a message!
The referee pleads with the Giant to let Olwagen go, but he holds his grip. Security guards led by Brendan Steele run into the ring to try and force him to let go. Vito starts to come to, but before he can process what's happening, Grizzly plants a foot on his chest and forces him to watch his friend get tortured.
Shamoon: Someone stop this, please!
A.B.: Paul, you've made your point! Let him go, or you'll kill him!
Suddenly, a man in a dress shirt and jeans, slides into the ring and chop blocks the back of Grizzly's knee. The champion falls over, releasing Cody and removing his foot from Vito's chest.
Dominga: Who the-
A.B.: That's Johnny Cyclone!
Dominga: Is he crazy or stupid?!
Grizzly gets his hand around Cyclone's throat and stands up.
A.B.: Montani's back on his feet!
Vito performs a bottom-rope springboard Superman punch and sends Grizzly stumbling.
Cyclone, another big man in his own right, gives Grizzly a big boot. The two of them work together and send the giant over the rope with a clothesline. The crowd roars with approval.
Shamoon: That's how it's done!
Cyclone keeps eyes on Grizzly while Vito checks on Cody, who is coughing and
wheezing.
Cut To Backstage
Dr Sharma: Out of the way! Move!
She and the medics push past the crowd of wrestlers, staff and fans while pulling the stretcher upon which Cody K. Olwagen lies.
Montani is close behind: SHE SAID 'GED OUTTA DA WAY!'
Upon hearing his voice, they completely part like the Red Sea. They reach the border of the parking lot where an ambulance is waiting to take Olwagen to Sambuca General.
Montani helps them load him in: Just get goin'. I'll be right behind ya. GO!
Cyclone and Montani talk for a moment before Campbell shows up, offering to give Montani a lift to the hospital, which he accepts. As Campbell leaves he offers, Cyclone an opportunity to potentially challenge Grizzly.
Montani (suddenly reappears, angrily looking between both men): Ayy! Hold on a sec! If we're talkin' 'bout Dominion and Grizzly, then that line still starts behind ME. That jagoff's gonna get his!
Campbell: ... We'll talk about it on the road.
Montani: Oh, we're going to talk, alright.
3 January 2031 - Friday Night Fight Pit Episode 1
SDS: HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome everybody to the first episode of Psycho Style Wrestling's Friday Night Fight Pit. "Striking" Darryl Stroligo here with the "Carnival King" Diogo Santos, and we are LIVE from the Tenamaxtli Stadium in the town of Tequila! ... I just received word from our General Manager, Jeffrey Campbell, that Paul Grizzly will meet Vito Montani in a World Dominion Championship rematch in our main event, TONIGHT!
DS: What?!
A graphic shows up on the two big screens to confirm Stroligo's words, and the crowd explodes with excitement.
DS: Oh, hell no! There is no way! Is Campbell stupid?
SDS: Apparently, Montani demanded a rematch! He wants revenge for what Grizzly did to his partner, Olwagen, who was rushed to the hospital on Sunday with no clear timeline of recovery.
Cut To Later that Night
David Bekker: Ladies and gentlemen, this is your main event of the evening! And it is scheduled for one fall.
Crowd: ONE FALL!
David Bekker: And it is for the Psycho Style Wrestling World Dominion Championship!
An intense hip hop track plays over the speakers, and the crowd pops. Montani comes out, shirtless as always, with a beanie on his head, a crucifix around his neck and purpose in his steps.
SDS: ...This match is officially booked as a wrestling match, but don't expect any arm drags or hip tosses. Montani is focused. He is ready to go to war and fall on his sword.
A primal roar is heard, followed by driving, percussion-focused guitar riffs. The big screens each show a first-person shot of a snowy forest. A chorus of boos rains down.
DS: Here he comes! The Man! The Beast! The Champion! Coming to turn this vagabundo inside out!
SDS: Here he comes? Where is he?
DS: He's making Montani sweat!
Montani paces in the ring. Head Referee "Big Joe" Wilson waits patiently in the corner. Bekker squints and tilts his head, trying to spot the champion. He puts a hand on his earpiece and nods.
SDS: Alright, now here he comes.
David Bekker: Introducing the champion! From Saskatoon, Seskatchewan, Canada, standing 211 centimetres and... (frowns while looking at the stage) weighing in at... 198 kilos, he is the Holder of Dominion... Paul... Grizzly...?
Bekker checks his earpiece.
Montani: What's da hold up?! Get his ass out here! GET HIS ASS OUT HERE!
SDS: What on Earth is going on? Where is... No...
DS: Darryl... Darryl-
The camera feed shows the parking lot. The Champion, Paul Grizzly is on his way to his massive pick-up truck.
DS: Is he leaving?
SDS: HE'S LEAVING! The Champion is walking out on his scheduled title defencee!
Arena
The boos reach a fever pitch. Montani is incensed, but before he can leave the ring, security runs out.
SDS: Brendan Steele and his men surrounding the ring. They're keeping this hot-blooded young buck corralled, but I don't know for how long.
DS: Do something, Campbell! Your main event's walking out the door. Oh, there he is.
Backstage
Campbell (sprinting to catch up while holding his hat): Grizzly! Grizzly! Grizzly, what in the bloody hell are you doin'?!
Grizzly: What does it look like? I'm going home.
Campbell: Strewth, you're jokin'! Ya got a title defence happenin', riiiight now, mate!
Grizzly (opens door): Against who?
Campbell: Vito Montani! We've been wrappin' our gums 'bout it all ni-
Grizzly (turns around): The punk I beat at Ascension? (turns back to his car) No thanks.
Campbell: The **** d'ya mean, "No, thanks"? It's entire reason you're here.
Grizzly (points at him): I came here to give that other punk, Tornado, or whatever he calls himself, a warning. I've done that. I'm done here.
He gets in the driver's seat as Campbell looks completely flabbergasted.
Campbell: Grizzly, ya drongo! I'm tellin' ya, mate. Get your bloody arse outta that ute and down to the ring, or there will be HELL TO PAY!
Grizzly (looks him in the eye): Send me the bill.
The truck roars to life and drives out of the building, leaving a trail of smoke and dust, and an infuriated GM in its wake.
SDS: He's gone! The Champion just drove out of the building.
DS: He just made Campbell look like a bichano.
Campbell (throwing his hat to the ground): FLAMIN' GALAH!
Honey Badger: Campbell!
Campbell (spins around, startled and steaming): What?!
Honey Badger (tilts head in Grizzly's direction): Card subject to choynge. (points at himself with a wild, toothy smile) I want in!
DS: IS HE CRAZY?!
SDS: Yes.
Campbell (pinching his nose): Let me get this straight. After all that's just gone down, you reckon it's a fair dinkum idea to go out there and go head-to-head with Vito Montani, in the mood he's in? YOU?!
Badger (gets in real close, eyes wide): Did. I. Stutter?
And so Badger is sent out to face Montani. The latter, focused on Grizzly, desn't take the small Afrikaner. That is until Badger eats his boot and his punches and his throws and keeps getting back up, clawing his face, flying all over the place, biting his face and repeatedly going after the big Italian's knee.
Eventually Montani gets on top.
SDS: Truer words, partner, but now it's Vito Montani with the advantage. Mounting Badger bringing that big, black-gloved hand down on his face and Badger's smiling! He's laughing! He's begging for more and Montani is obliging! Hammer blow after hammer blow!
DS: He's going to cave his skull in!
Wilson tries to pull Montani off and gets shoved for his trouble. That's it.
SDS: Wilson is calling for the bell. The match is over, but Montani's not stopping! He came for revenge! He came for retribution, and he was denied!
David Bekker: Ladies and gentlemen, Head Referee Joe Wilson has called a stop to this contest. Your winner as a result of a disqualification... the Honey Badger!
Montani finally stops.
DS: What? DQ for what?
SDS: Montani shoved the referee. ... had already been given several warnings already.
Montani stands up, his right hand stained with blood, staring daggers at the zebra.
Wilson: I warned you, kid.
SDS: MONTANI KNOCKED OUT WILSON! MONTANI KNOCKED OUT OUR HEAD REFEREE JOE WILSON! THAT IS GOING TO COST HIM A LOT OF MONEY!
DS: I don't think he cares- B-Badger's sitting up! Badger's still moving, he's trying to sit up and he's still laughing!
SDS: What is wrong with him?!
Montani stomps Badger back down and then limps out of the ring to get a metal folding chair from the timekeeper's area.
Montani: You wanna laugh, huh? You wanna laugh?
SDS: Oh no. Vito, stop! Don't do anything you're going to regret!
DS: Badger is still laughing! He's still moving! He's crawling! What is guy made of?!
Montani (holding chair with both hands): You wanna be a big man? You can take da big man's asswhuppin'.
SDS: Montani with a chair to the back! Again and again and again! FOR GOD'S SAKE, BADGER, STOP MOVING! Thank God, security on their way.
DS: Thank God for what? We just saw how useless they-
SDS: OH MY GOD! MY GOD! Steele nearly got his skull split! Security Chief Brendan Steele got his brain scramble by that chair and now Montani is fighting half a dozen men.
DS: He's out of control!
Montani is the now the only one left standing in the ring. He points at Bekker on the outside and orders him to get in here. The annoncer obeys and gets his microphone snatched out of his hands.
Montani: Gimme dat! (looks at camera man and points) Yo, get ovah here!
The cameraman hesitantly gets closer.
Montani (pointing at himself): Ayy, lookit me! LOOK ME IN MY FRIGGIN' EYES!
The veins in his forehead and neck bulge and protrude as he speaks his final two words of the night: OPEN... SEASON!
10 January 2031 - Friday Night Fight Pit Episode 2
SDS: ...Vito Montani has been fined and suspended for an indefinite period.
DS: Campbell's just trying to save face.
SDS: As for the World Dominion Champ-
Suddenly, a primal roar is heard, followed by driving, percussion-focused guitar riffs. The big screens each show a first-person shot of a snowy forest. A chorus of boos rains down. The shaggy-haired behemoth lumbers down the ramp, dressed in his signature one-strap brown singlet with the title over his shoulder.
SDS: What the hell?
DS: Darryl, did you know he'd be here?
SDS: I had no idea, and he looks dressed to compete. Where was this last week?
Grizzly: I got a call from Campbell during the week. He said if I didn't defend my title tonight...Then he'll strip me of my title.
DS: That's bs!
SDS: Indeed. He should have just been stripped on the spot.
The crowd pops even louder.
Grizzly: So, I'm here. (points at the stage) Challenger's been picked. Get me a damn referee! (drops mic and title)
A high-energy, high-spirited violin and beat track plays, and the crowd groans.
SDS: ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
DS: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAAAHAHAAHAHAAHAAHAHAAHAHAAAA!!!!!
David Bekker: ... from Alice Springs, Australia, standing 170 centimetres tall and weighing in at 73 kilos, Job R. Smith!
Smith power walks down the ramp with a smile.
SDS: Of course. OF COURSE, he would do this. Job R. Smith is NOT a world title contender.
DS: Darryl, the Dominion and Jewell's champs have booking power. The contenders are whoever he wants them to be.
Referee Bryan Mbuemo calls for the bell.
The smaller man shoots for a takedown, grabbing the tree trunk-like leg of Grizzly. Smith grits his teeth, pushing and pulling with every ounce of strength and weight his body can muster.
DS: Just look at this, Darryl. Look at the heart. Look at the grit. Look at the (chuckles) determination.
SDS: Look at the size of Grizzly's hand. Iron Claw! Iron Claw applied! He'll pop his skull like a grape! Smith taps out!
Mbuemo calls for the bell again, and the crowd boos loudly.
Grizzly drops Smith, then picks up the title and the microphone.
David Bekker: Here is your winner and STILL the Holder of Dominion, Paul Grizzly!
Grizzly: Are you happy now?
The crowd boos even louder.
Grizzly: Sorry, I meant to say, "Do you think I give a rat's ass?"
Grizzly drops the microphone and exits the ring with his title as his music blasts through the arena.
DS: That's a Champion, right there.
SDS: A complete disgrace.
DS: Hey, he did what Campbell told him to do. I don't see the problem.
Cut To The Back
SDS: There we see the World Dominion Champion, Paul Grizzly, fresh off his "title defence". And to the surprise of absolutely no one, he's walking out again.
DS: He handled business, Darryl. He did what Campbell told him to do and everything. You can't fault him for that.
SDS: Right...
As Grizzly, now in street clothes, rounds a corner, he stops. His thick bushy brows raise high enough for his eyes to be visible, finally.
SDS: What's this now?
Grizzly drops the duffel bag in his hand and the title belt on his shoulder, stumbling forward, puffing himself up with air.
The drone pans to show his truck. The very truck he used to embarrass Jeffrey Campbell last week peeled out of the arena.
That same trick is currently propped up on concrete blocks. No wheels, no windows and the words 'OPEN SEASON' written in red paint, over and over.
Montani (v.o.): OPEN... SEASON!
The Jenever crowd cheers loudly, but the Champion's monstrous roar quickly drowns them out.
Grizzly: MOOOONNNTAAAANIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-
Cut Back To The Ring
Grizzly (v.o): -IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kala Kahuna has just lost to the banged up Honey Badger. The two are having a staredown. Suddenly, a familiar roar is heard, followed by a driving, percussion-focused guitar riff.
SDS: It's Paul Grizzly! It's the Champion!
Both Kahuna and Badger stare at the stage as the Champion briskly marches down to the ring. As he steps over the rope, they both know what's up. Badger is first to lunge and gets slapped so hard he spins before collapsing.
The Hawaiian is more hesitant, even backs up slightly, but then he just throws up his hands and charges as well. Grizzly grabs Kahuna by the throat with both hands, headbutts him and throws him OVER the ropes. He then kicks Badger's comatose body out of the ring as well.
Grizzly demands a microphone and stands in the centre of the ring. His ring.
Grizzly: MONTANI! I KNOW YOU'RE IN HERE! Get your ass oot here so I can peel the skin off it!
Crowd: Vito! Vito!
Grizzly: Open Season, right?! Well, I'm standing right here!
Crowd: Vito! Vito! Vito!
Grizzly: Yeah, keep chanting! Keep chanting his name! I'll wipe his blood on each and every one of your faces!
Campbell: Grizzly, mate, that's enough!
The GM comes down in his signature big white hat and a black dress shirt with rolled-up sleeves.
DS: Look who decided to show up.
SDS: Finally.
Campbell (entering the ring): Look, I've got Steele and his blokes checkin' every nook and cranny of this buildin'. If Vito's still kickin' around here-
Grizzly (towering over him): And where were they when that punk wrecked my ride?! What kind of circus are you runnin' here, Campbell?!
Campbell (frowns): Strewth, you use the property at your own risk, mate. We ain't responsible if your stuff gets nicked or buggered. ... But I do feel bad about what happened to your ute, so I'll foot the bill for the repairs myself, and I'll even shout you a cab.
Grizzly: A cab?
Campbell: Yes, a cab. (points at the stage) You're leavin', now.
Grizzly: I'm not going anywhere until Montani-
Campbell: "Montani" nothin'. You're gone!
Grizzly: You set this whole thing up. That "suspension" was bullshit. I made you look like a punk last week, so you put this whole thing together with Montani to embarrass me. (grabs him by the shirt and lifts him up with one arm): You're gonna tell me where he is, or I'm gonna give you a taste of what-
Johnny Cyclone suddenly sprints out to intervene.
Grizzly: You again? I thought I told you what would happen the next time you got involved in my business.
Cyclone: I told you I would when I needed to!
Grizzly (slowly stepping closer): I said it was going to be the last... the last... last. thing... you... e... ver-r-r-r-r-r-r
SDS: Is he having a health episode?
DS: Something's wrong with the Champ! Campbell, do something!
Both Campbell and Cyclone watch as Grizzly stumbles forward and backwards, to the left and to the right, spins around and falls face-first on the mat.
Campbell drops a knee and shakes Grizzly, lowering his ear to check if he's breathing. Cyclone grabs him to turn him over and then frowns before pulling something off of Grizzly's back, near the armpit. He shows up at Campbell, who goes slack-jawed.
SDS: Can we get a zoom in here? What is he holding?!
DS: Darryl, is that-
SDS: A tranquiliser dart! Someone just shot Grizzly with a tranquiliser.
The crowd is going nuts.
Cyclone turns Grizzly onto his back as Dr Anya Sharma and her team of medics rush out. Campbell stands and looks every which way until he sees something up in the rafters. He then starts speaking into his comms and points at them.
SDS: What is he pointing at? Who- IT'S VITO! IT'S VITO MONTANI! AND HE'S A RIFLE! VITO MONTANI JUST SNIPED THE WORLD DOMINION CHAMPION!
DS: ARREST HIM! PRENDAM ESSE DESGRAÇADO!!!
Montani smirks and drops his rifle, holding up his hands to be apprehended by security.
DS: HE'S A THUG! A CRIMINAL! A PALHAÇO!
Campbell just stares up at Montani, hands on his hips and head shaking. Security guards reach Montani, handcuff him and drag him away.
Crowd: VITO! VITO! VITO! VITO! VITO! VITO!
SDS: ...How much worse is this feud going to get?! HOW MUCH FURTHER ARE THESE MEN WILLING TO GO?!
17 January 2031 - Friday Night Fight Pit Episode 3
Kruscher, Johnny Cyclone, The Honey Badger and Kala Kahuna all come out, each trying to make their case for a title match against Grizzly and almost come to blows. Only for Palesa Jeyi to fire a foghorn on the speakers.
Campbell: Listen up, yeah? Just so we're dead set clear, Vito Montani's still top dog, the Number 1 Bloke for the title. That is set in stone. You boys have to sit tight.
SDS: WHAT?!
DS: HE SNIPED THE CHAMP THE ROOF!! That palhaço should be in prison.
The crowd roars: VITO! VITO! VITO! VITO! VITO!
Campbell (waits for them): I'll tell ya what, though, Open Season's about to be cactus pretty bloody soon. But you know what? Since you blokes are all fired up, ready to go off like a frog in a sock, I reckon I'll help ya let off some steam... with a TAG TEAM MATCH!
The crowd pops.
Campbell: In our main event, it'll be the team of the Honey Badger and the Moscow Machine, Kruscher... versus the team of Kala Kahuna and Johnny Cyclone!
Cut To The Back
Katrina Petrov and her cameraman intercept Campbell as he enters the hallway.
Petrov: Jeffrey!
Campbell (big smile): Katrina. How's it going?
Petrov: I'm well, thank you. You just confirmed that Vito Montani is still in contention for the World Dominion Championship?
Campbel (still smiling): That I did.
Petrov: Even after he stole a tranquiliser from medical, used it on Paul Grizzly, the World Champion and got arrested on camera?
Campbell (still smiling): Yep.
Petrov: ... Why?
Campbell (still smiling): Because I said so.
Crowd: Oooh.
Petrov: ...
Campbell: Any more questions?
Petrov: ... Are you able to share the whereabouts and statuses of Montani and Grizzly?
<Brief flashback to episode 2 with Montani being arrested by the Jenever Police Department>
Campbell (stops smiling): Chucked out the charges on Vito, but he's under house arrest. Not in like a legal sense, yeah? More like, 'He'll get plugged if he as much as bloody breathes near this joint' sense.
Campbell: As for Paul? Buggered if I know, love. No shout, no text, nothin'. Bloke's gone walkabout, and tell ya what, I'm half thinkin' I couldn't give a stuff, long as he's here when I tell him to be.
Cut To Later That Night
The tag team main event splits off with Kruscher and Cyclone brawling up to the stage and Kahuna managing to pin Badger in the ring, only for Badger to start squeezing his balls in retaliation.
Kruscher then lifts Cyclone up again, this time in the Scoop Slam position. The crowd is going ballistic. The Machine prepares to throw the young hero off, only to be sent flying along with him by the man they call...
SDS: GRIZZLY! PAUL GRIZZLY IS BACK!
DS: He just sent them both to hell!
Grizzly (v.o.): Open season, right?
SDS: And he's heading for the ring! I thought he wasn't supposed to be here.
DS: Who told you that? Campbell said he didn't know where he was. Said he didn't care. Now look!
Badger finally ceases the manual vasectomy when he sees the Champion.
SDS: Badger with another Dolphin Dive- No, caught! MY GOD! DID YOU SEE HOW FAR HE FLUNG HIM INTO THE CROWD!
DS: HE SPINNING LIKE A BOOMERANG!
SDS: Oh no, Kahuna's defenceless. And now with the Bearhug! Squeezing the life out of the Hawaiian! Wilson desperately trying to make it stop!
Kahuna opens his mouth, but he cannot even scream, for there is no air in his lungs. In the huge arms of the 211-centimetre, near-200-kilo Champion, the big Hawaiian looks small and helpless.
Campbell (running out): Paul! Paul, stop! You're gonna kill him! STOP!
Grizzly drops Kahuna, then turns around to exit the ring.
Campbell: Listen here, you big fat bastard! If you think-
Grizzly grabs him by the throat and lifts the 90-kilo GM off the ground with one hand, while taking his microphone in the other. Campbell kicks and struggles to no avail as the windpipe is slowly closed.
Grizzly: You did this. ALL OF THIS is on YOU!
Crowd: Vito! Vito! Vito! Vito!
Grizzly: But Montani? What I do to him? THAT is on me!
The crowd boos loudly as he shoves Campbell back down and lumbers back up the ramp, leaving the Aussie to clutch his throat and gasp for air.
SDS: ... A pissed-off Paul Grizzly is a problem for EVERYBODY!
DS:... that palhaço, Vito Montani! He is going to get his. He HAS to, or we're not going to make it to the Valentine's Brawl!
Grizzly stands on the stage, now holding the prize at the centre of all this mayhem, Dominion.
Crowd: VITO! VITO! VITO!
24 January 2031 - Friday Night Fight Pit Episode 4
Deputy Security Chief Cyrus Reed and three other guards lead Vito Montani in. Montani's hands are zip-tied behind his back, yet he wears a smirk.
Campbell: Cut him loose, lads.
Reed tilts his head, and one of the guards pulls out a pair of flush cutters to snip the ties around Montani's wrists.
Montani (opening and closing his fists): Ya got da stuff, boss?
Campbell (waves a document): It's all there, plain as day; stamped and dated by the big man himself. (hands it over) The ring's all yours, mate.
Montani (reads the document with raised brows and drooped eyelids): All mine, huh?
Campbell: All yours. (frowns and points) Just leave it the way ya found it.
Cut To The Ring
SDS: What's that in his hands?
DS: Hopefully, a written apology, a letter of resignation AND a statement of guilt.
Montani enters the ring and gestures for Bekker to hand over his microphone. The announcer obeys and scrambles out of the ring as quickly as his pudgy form allows.
Montani: MANILA!
The crowd pops and the name drop.
Montani: How ya doin'? ... What happened to good, clean, family entertainment, huh? Every week, I gotta call my ma and tell her, (smiles goes away) 'Don't watch. Ya ain't gonna like what ya see.' ... joost imagine da heart attack she got if she saw me wreck a guy's ride an' den shoot dat guy wit a tranquilizer dart on live TV like da animal he is.
DS: Nobody forced you to do that, o imbecil!
Montani (smile fades slightly, brows furrows, eyelids droop): Now, I want youse to imagine, a couple weeks before dat, at Ascension, da pain she was goin' t'rough, as dat same guy, dat 440-pound freak, wit' his foot on my chest, makin' me watch as he squeezed da life outta Cody K. Olwagen, my tag team partner, my best friend, my brot'er, who weighs in about a buck-seventy on a good day.
SDS: And that's what it's always been about.
DS: Olwagen had it coming!
Montani (smile disappears): Alright, forget about Mrs Montani for a sec, and picture Mrs Olwagen, 62 years old, who hadda be flown from South Africa all the way to da Isles a' Volmun so she could be with her son in the hospital! (face twitching) Now, picture ME standin' dere, like a friggin' jerk, havin' ta explain to dis sweet ol' lady why her baby boy was lyin' dere wit an oxygen mask on his face... (veins popping) AND WHY THE FU** I LET IT HAPPEN!
Montani (holds up document): See, what I got right here is an executive order from da CEO, ... Sanka Williams... and to summa-rize what it says, (reads document) next week, in Suva, Fiji, da End of Jan Special... Paul Grizzly... (bores into the camera) YER ASS IS MIIIIINE!!!
DS: WHAT?!
SDS: An executive order for one-on-one match?
Montani (pacing): But hold up, dere's more, cuz dis ain't gonna be no regular singles match. Nah, nah, nah. Dat World Dominion Championship is gonna be on da line...
The crowd pops yet again.
Montani: ... in an AMBULANCE MATCH!
The roof of the Mall strains against the crowd's roar.
SDS: AN AMBULANCE MATCH?!
DS: HAVE THEY LOST THEIR MINDS?!
Montani: An' if you don't like it, if you decide not to show, or if you do show an' den try to walk out on me like you did in Episode 1, Dominion gets handed to me right den an' dere!
SDS: THE CHAMPION HAS BEEN CORNERED!
DS: NOOOOO, HE CAN'T DO THAT! THEY CAN'T DO THIS! YOU CAN'T GIVE THIS CRIMINAL THE WORLD TITLE!
Montani (looks into the camera): Grizzly, you got two choices: Be a friggin' pu**y and hand over dat nice shinin' belt ya love so much, or grow some balls and finish what ya started?
A montage plays of the preceding events from Montani's POV. Him dropping Kruscher, pounding on Badger, breaking a bat on Grizzly's head, putting him through the table, sniping him...
Montani (v.o.): An' if he decides ta show up in Fiji, here's exactly what's gonna happen. When I shut dem doors, Open Season's done. You're gonna see me, standin' here, in da middle of dis ring, wit' a nice new fur coat ova my shoulders an' da World Dominion Championship 'round my waist, wit' sirens blarin' while an ambulance carries away 400 pounds of DEAD MEAT!
The video of Grizzly being carried away after getting sniped replays.
He slams the microphone down and holds up his fist as the crowd chants "VITO! VITO! VITO! VITO!".
Grizzly (voice): Vito...
Montani looks around.
Grizzly (voice): Vito... Vito, up here.
The big screens show Grizzly in a hooded jacket and pants standing in front of a brick wall.
Grizzly: Vito, kid, seriously. You're out there talking like I killed the little bastard. When in actuality, I hear he's doing pretty well. In fact, I was just about to go visit him.
The camera then zooms out. Montani's eyes widen in horror.
SDS: That's... That's Constantine Medical. It's a private hospital in Sambuca!
DS: ... Sh**.
The shaggy-haired giant beckons the cameraman to follow as he steps into the entrance of the hospital. Montani rolls out of the ring and sprints up the ramp.
SDS: O moj Bože. Grizzly's going into the hospital! He's going into the hospital where Cody K. Olwagen is in recovery!
Cut Back to Gorilla
Montani (dialling and putting the phone on speaker): Tony! Tony, I need ya to get Cody and his mom-
Grizzly (voice): Tony can't come to the phone right now.
Montani: YOU! You son of a bitch, I'll kill ya if ya-
Grizzly: Simmer down there, buddy! You don't get to make threats.
Campbell: Grizzly! Grizzly, mate, ya gotta have a think about thi-
Grizzly: I've thought plenty, Campbell, you sneaky little rat bastard. You think I didn't catch wind of this little stunt you were gonna pull?
Montani: What do ya want?
Grizzly: I want what everybody wants. I want this "Open Season" crap to stop, but more importantly, I want you off my back. So, here's what's gonna happen.
The image is distorted by static. A montage of all the preceding events from Grizzly's POV. Bear hugging Kruscher, smacking Badger, tossing Badger, tossing Kahuna, bear hugging Kahuna, sending Kruscher and Cyclone flying off the stage, bear hugging Montani, bear hugging Olwagen with Montani forced to watch.
Grizzly (v.o.): You want me in Fiji next week, eh? For your little Ambulance Match? You've got it. I'll be there, but WHEN I stuff your oiled-up carcass into the back of the boo-boo bus, when all your broken bones are fused back together, you will NEVER challenge me for Dominion ever again!
Montani grits his teeth and grips the phone tightly.
Jeyi: That's completely ridiculous!
Campbell: Vito, you don't have to-
Montani: You got a deal.
Campbell, Jeyi & SDS: WHAT?!
Montani (closes his eyes): Just... leave 'em alone, already.
Grizzly: Pleasure doin' business with ya. See ya 'round.
Montani growls and crushes the phone. Static distorts the image.
31 January (This Morning) - Phone Call Between CEO Sanka Williams and World Dominion Champion Paul Grizzly
A long phone beep sounds. Then another. Then another.
Mr Williams (v.o.): Paul, how's it going?
Grizzly (v.o.): What do you want, Williams?
Williams (v.o.): I take it you weren't too fond of the Executive Order business. It had to be done. This thing with Montani was escalating a little too much for my liking.
Williams (v.o.): I take it you weren't too fond of the Executive Order business. It had to be done. This thing with Montani was escalating a little too much for my liking.
Grizzly (v.o.): Whatever. Is that why you called?
Williams (v.o.): Well, actually, I wanted to verify something. We got a call from a guy named Saul who wants to work in production. Says he knows you.
Grizzly (v.o.): Did he now?
Williams (v.o.): Yeah, something about a hospital scene.
Grizzly (v.o.): Is that right?
Williams (v.o.): Yeah.
Grizzly (v.o.): Well, he does good work. You'd be stupid not to hire him.
Williams (v.o.): Oh, don't worry. We already did.
Grizzly (v.o.): ... So what now?
Williams (v.o.): Nothing. Finish what you started. Open Season...
Campbell (echoing v.o.): ... Open Season...
Grizzly (echoing v.o.): ... Open Season, right?...
Grizzly's wrecked truck with the letters written on it flashes.
Montani (echoing v.o.): OPEN... SEASON!
Williams (v.o.): ... is done. Got it?
Grizzly (v.o.): Don't worry about it.
Williams (v.o.): It's not me who needs to be worried. (click)
