PSW Fight Pit Episode 2 - The Martyr & the Machine

Backstage

Katrina Petrov stands outside a door with a tag: GENERAL MANAGER. While she waits, a quintet of police officers comes into view. The crowd boos Jenever's finest.

Lead Officer: Excuse me, miss. 

Petrov moves aside and gestures for the cameraman to back up as the Lead Officer knocks sharply on the door. 

L.O.: JPD! Open up.

The door opens wide, and Campbell walks out: He's all yours, gents.

L.O. (enters the office): Vito Montani!

Montani (standing up from his chair, hands in the air): That's my name.

L.O. (pulls out handcuffs and places them on him): You're under arrest for trespassing, theft, possession of and discharging of a firearm in a public gathering, assault and battery, chemical warfare, littering....

They drag the towering and smirking Italian out of the office and down the hall.

Crowd: Vito! Vito! Vito! 

Montani: Be seein' yuh, Jeff!

Campbell is about to go back inside when Petrov stops him.

Petrov: Jeff, a moment of your time. What's going to happen to Vito Montani?

Campbell: He'll be sittin' in the Jennie jail for a bit. We'll suss out if Grizzly wants to go ahead with this 'ere carry-on or drop the charges. Speakin' of, gotta check on Sleepy to see if he's compos mentis, then I'm off to the cop shop to give my two bob's worth. Catch ya later.

Petrov: Before you leave, I have to ask. Is there any truth to the accusation Paul Grizzly made against you? Did you have any part in Vito Montani's actions here tonight?

Campbell (tips hat and smiles): Have a good night, Katrina.

The crowd is a mix of gasps, cheers, boos, and screams.

DS: Son of a-

SDS: He didn't say yes!

DS: He didn't say no, either!

SDS: He said no to Grizzly's face.

DS: Did he?

Petrov watches Campbell leave with slightly raised eyebrows. Suddenly, the massive frame of Kruscher walks past, briefly blocking her from sight.

Petrov: Krrruscher!

The Moscow Machine stops and turns his head slightly.

Petrov: You're about to go one-on-one with Johnny Cyclone for the second week in a row. Last week, he defeated and positioned himself as a front-runner in the Dominion Title race. 

Kruscher narrows his eyes.

Petrov: With everything surrounding the title tonight and your own months-long chase for the title, can you give us an insight into how you plan to put yourself back in the conversation?

She holds up the mic for him to answer. He just stares at her, lets out a single, hissing breath and continues on his way.

Petrov (to the camera): Hmm. Back to you guys.

SDS: Thank you, Katrina. Kruscher vs Cyclone II is NEXT!

DS: LET'S GO!
