Davis: Roger, are you absolutely sure you want to-
Evans: Not now, dudette. The Crimson King has got a date with old King George...
He steps out of the camera's view, only to come back.
The feed switches to that of an O.R.D.R.L.I. as he steps into the gorilla position. Producer Mike Miller is seated in front of some screens, headphones on.
Miller: Evans, PA'll take you outside.
Evans: Righteous.
As he follows the young woman, Miller pulls his headset down: Hey!
Evans stops.
Miller: Municipals are expecting this to go down, but it doesn't have to. Just sayin'.
Evans (nods): Good to know. (leaves)
Miller (shakes head and sighs): God help him.
The feed switches again as the PA leads him around a corner, and he comes face-to-face with Chief Medical Officer Dr Anya Sharma.
Evans: What's up, Doc?
Sharma narrows her eyes with arms folded.
Evans (rubs the back oh neck): Sorry. Had to do it once.
Sharma (steps forward, slowly): I... am begging you... to use whatever counts as cognition within that thick skull of yours. Don't do this!
Evans (drops his hand to his hip): Doc, I don't know if you know this, but I'm, like, a trained professional.
Sharma: Really? Tonye Carrera trained you to get bounced on concrete?
Evans: He didn't. Martin Zázrak did. (looks away) He, uh, wasn't very nice.
Sharma (through her teeth): Neither is Stewart.
Suddenly, the voice of Kalavina Leota is heard: Let him t'rough, Sharma.
Sharma (snaps her head in Leota's direction): You cannot be serious.
Leota: He's a grown man, and he made his decision.
Sharma: His decision is dumb.
Leota: Still his. You done your job.
The doctor from Delhi glares from the ageing Samoan to the young White boy, and leaves.
Sharma: I'm surrounded by nincompoops.
Evans (chuckles and points with his thumb): She said-
Leota: Don't.
Evans: ... Okay, then.
He follows the PA past the Mother Hen, who stares at him and sighs.
The feed switches several times, down different halls and spaces, following Evans and the production assistant past onlookers. Athiambo, leaning against a wall, her big golden eyes following him, the Drako Triad in catering, Vi and Nyx seated in Kael's lap, "Lucky" Lei D and Maya Lethbridge deep in discussion, Shay Maharaj walking in the opposite direction while still furiously wiping her own face with the semi-blinded Cobra sticking close.
The final feed comes near the exit. General Manager Nalah Shabani and Security Chief Brendan Steele are there.
Steele (to the PA): A'll take it from here.
Shabani (holds up a finger): One moment, Brendan. (steps forward) Mr Evans, this is your last chance. If you go out there, Georgia Holliday's only job is to count the fall. You will not be protected. No one will think less of you for forfeiting.
Evans: ... Yyyyyeaaaaahhhh... That's not how it works.
Shabani (frowns): ... Maybe I should just strip you and hand the belt over to Stewart. You clearly-
Evans: So do it then.
Shabani: What?
Evans (takes off his whiteout shades): Strip me of the Bloodbath Championship, right now.
Shabani blinks. She wants to retort, but there's a look in his eyes that keeps her voice trapped in her throat.
Evans (smiles and puts shades back on): Oh well. Can I go now?
Shabani (lowers her head): Whatever happens to you out there is not on the Madhouse or Psycho Style Wrestling.
She steps aside, and Evans follows Steele to the outside.
